PG&E Bankruptcy Judge Terminates PG&E’s “Exclusivity Period” for Presenting a Proposed Plan of Reorg

On October 9, 2019, the Hon. Dennis Montali, the U.S. Bankruptcy Judge hearing the bankruptcy case of Pacific Gas & Electric Corporation (“PG&E”), terminated the period of exclusivity in which only PG&E could present a proposed plan of reorganization.

The court’s order granted a joint motion of The Official Committee of Tort Claimants and the Ad Hoc Committee of Senior Unsecured Noteholders asking for termination of the exclusivity period. The order also denied PG&E’s second motion to extend the exclusivity period.
